bed logoFirst Annual B.E.D Conference (Birth Empowerment Dialogue)

Saturday, March 7th at the Embassy Suites & Conference Center in LaVista, NE

There was a time in history when birth was considered a normal human phenomenon: a miraculous phenomenon, of course, but a normal one.  Women supported other women in their journey to become mothers.  Pregnancy was a time when one learned to trust her own body.  Women were encouraged to find inner strength; to KNOW, wholeheartedly, that they were capable.  As a result, babies were born surrounded by generations of knowledge, experience, and wisdom.  Babies were born to empowered mothers.  The BED Conference aims to create a new generation of empowered mothers.  Out Ted-style talks are specifically designed to help you sort through the endless influx of information, erase unfounded fears, and inspire you to emerge as the Pregnant-Warrior-Goddess that you are meant to be.  Because Mama, you CAN do this.

Julie has been invited to speak about pelvic health!  Don’t miss it!  Check out the official website for details , registration, and a list of speakers.

Saturday, May 28th 1 pm

What is Doula Speed Dating?  An opportunity for expectant moms and their partners to interview several doulas at one time and place.  Ask any question you may have about childbirth or what a doula can do to help you have a better birth experience.

Choosing a doula is serious business!  This woman will share one of the most important experiences in your life.

Interview multiple doulas before making your decision.  She needs to be someone you feel comfortable with and can learn to trust.  Women and doulas often share a strong bond that lasts for years.  Because of this, many women will have the same doula attend them at subsequent births.

Don’t wait until week 30 to start looking!  Doulas are in increasingly high demand and their schedules fill up quickly.  Start your search early, so you have plenty of time to find your perfect match.

Did you know that having a doula attend your birth can…

– lower your C-section rate by 50%
– reduce length of labor by 25%
– reduce risk of postpartum depression

and so much more!!!

Join us for a casual afternoon getting to know each other and enjoying some yummy treats!

Copyright 2017 Mommy Fitness

We believe positive birth stories should be shared and this is an opportunity for women to gather in support for each other.

This FREE event is for ALL women. Pregnant women looking for encouragement as they prepare for birth, as well as moms who need to process previous birth experiences.

Nursing infants/children are welcome. Women only please.

Stories: the difficult, the triumphant, the still-processing, and the stories which haven’t yet been shared. The space we create is respectful and kind, insightful and compassionate. If you would like to share your story please have it written down and keep it about 5-7 minutes long so we have time to hear from as many moms as possible.

Some tips for telling your story…
1. Divide your story into 4 sections – Pregnancy, labor, pushing and post birth.
2. With each section consider including …..
What happened?
How did you feel?
What was your greatest coping skill?
Is there anything you feel sad about?
Is there anything you feel triumphant about?
Who was your greatest support?
3.Summarize… what did you learn about yourself from this birth?
